The Northampton Carnival is a huge annual event kicking off on the Racecourse. The event has two parts to it – the carnival parade of floats and troupes and the wonderful stalls and stage performances at the venue.
Every year there is a theme for the parade and this gives opportunities for creative interpretations which make the parade a spectacular sight. Leading up to the event, workshops are held that assist paraders in bringing their ideas to life.
The parade usually leaves from the venue and travels in to town and returns to the starting point. Carnival Parade will leave the Racecourse at 2 pm and travel down the Kettering Road in to the town centre and returning to the Park
