Improvements to the A43 north of Northampton are essential to support the continued growth and expansion which includes opening up land for 3,000 new homes - the majority of which will be located in the Overstone Leys development.
The scheme essentially entails converting the A43 into dual carriageway all the way between the A45 and the A14, improving the Round Spinney roundabout and building a new stretch of road between the Round Spinney and Moulton roundabouts to bypass the existing A43 road.
These improvements are being delivered by Northamptonshire County Council and funded through Local Growth Fund via SEMLEP, developer contributions and County Council funding.
The initial phases include improvements between the Round Spinney roundabout and a new junction near Overstone Grange. All the initial phases will be complete by 2019.
