Q. What is the purpose of the scheme?
A. The trial is an opportunity for businesses to offer their staff the opportunity to try out e-bikes FREE for 4 weeks. It aims to encourage them to get out of cars, provide a socially distanced, active mode of transport which is convenient, affordable and flexible. It has a lower environmental footprint with huge potential to improve air quality and reduce climate change. It will support businesses with their travel planning and reduce the pressure on staff car parking.
Q. Who can take part in the scheme?
A. This offer is open to any business in Northamptonshire who is willing to facilitate the e-bike loan for their staff. The business must firstly register an interest and a member of the project team will be in touch to discuss the requirements. The business will then be able to share sign-up details with their staff, who will have to individually register and sign the T&C’s.

Q. What is included in the offer?
A. Each staff member will receive a suitable sized e-bike, for a period of 4 weeks. The e-bike will be delivered to the business property and collected from the same location at the end of the 4 week period.
Each staff member will also receive a basic induction session showing them the features of the e-bike, the requirements for charging and for safe storage. Further information will be available on the SmartMove Northamptonshire website. They will also receive a pack containing a high-visibility jacket, helmet, pump and lock (check what’s in the kit). The e-bike and the safety pack will be handed over at the business property and collected again at the end of the trial.
